Juicy Salif- Phillipe Starck
A perfect example of simplicity in design and form. it has elegance and beauty and is wonderfully efficient. It also bares a fantastic resemblance to an alien space craft, could anything be cooler?

Fiat Multipla
The ugliest car out there to date. Less like a frog, more like a toad, no matter how many times you kiss it, it will never be a prince.

Forest Mushrooms Ring- H.Stern and Disney

One in a range of unusual rings inspired by Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland.
I am in love with this ring. I really like the organic feel of this ring and the effect the ring must have on the wearer of fungi sprouting from her fingers. It is disgusting yet brilliant. i like choice of colour on the mushroom heads and the subtle use of diamonds. The full, voluptuous forms of the mushrooms are wonderful. It is a beautiful, exciting ring.

Topiary Ring-H.Stern and Disney

I think that the ring is without a doubt unique and that it is quirky but overall it is not very appealing to me. It has little to recommend it in the way of finesse or design. It is quite ugly although i can see what the designer was getting at.

Antoni Gaudi's Casa Batllo, Barcelona
The beauty of this building is awe-inspiring. It is very organic and has so much movement. it looks as if it has been sculpted out of sand. I love the softness of the building and the subtle colours on the stained windows and on the walls. Gaudi's work in general is incredibly unique. I picture Neptune looking out from one of those windows.

Shoes-Designer Unknown
I dislike these shoes because i think that they are way too over the top. They're very, very chunky and I am really not a fan of the colours used. I think that the platform is covered in bright, different coloured rhinestones which is really gaudy. Maybe if you were going over the top for a 70's themed dress-up party they would be perfect.

Necklace by Rene Lalique
I am in love with Lalique's use of enamel in this piece and i think the combination of enamel, gold and gemstones is incredibly beautiful. The use of bold shapes as well as the symmetry in the piece give the necklace a huge amount of character and draw the eye in. Even though the piece is symmetrical there is a definite organic feel to it. very Art Nouveau-esc. I like that the piece is hand-made and unique and I just love the overall whimsical feel of this necklace.

Barbie Jewellery By Margaux Lange
This necklace has been made from mutilated barbies. I really dislike the piece as a whole and i must say i cant see it enhancing the wearer's beauty. Perhaps some might see the piece as fun but its a little bit too quirky for my liking.

Artist Statement

I am captivated by pieces that are whimsical and that incorporate elements of fantasy and imagination and i am inspired by the wonder and incoherence of dreams. I want to create pieces that portray stories and have emotional depth, that tell you something of the wearer. I aspire to create intricate and delicate structures that have unusual and unique elements. I am inspired by mythology aswel as insects and the natural world.
